Der oder das Tarot - beide Formen sind gebräuchlich - ist ein Kartendeck, dass in seiner heutigen Struktur seit dem 16.Jahrhundert bekannt ist. Es besteht aus 78 Karten, die sich in zwei Hauptgruppen unterteilen: die eine Gruppe von 22 Karten die man die Großen Arkana (lat.arcanum - Geheimnis) nennt und die 56 Karten der Kleinen Arkana.
